Who We Are
The Blugold Group is a student-led organization at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire focused on cybersecurity education, and skills development. We bring together students from diverse backgrounds who are passionate about protecting digital infrastructure, securing personal data, and learning how to defend against cyber threats.
We meet at 6:00pm in Vicki Lord Larson 1132 (in the hallway connecting Schofield to the library) every Tuesday. Come down and join us!
Our Mission
Our mission is to educate students in the realm of cybersecurity through hands on technical projects and community engagement. We strive to create an inclusive environment where members can enhance their skills, connect with industry experts, and make impactful contributions to the cybersecurity landscape. Recognizing the importance of a free internet, we participate in global efforts that improve the security, openness, and privacy of the internet.
How We Do It
- Workshops: Regularly scheduled sessions on topics like ethical hacking, penetration testing, and network security.
- Capture the Flag (CTF): Cybersecurity challenges that simulate real-world security incidents.
- Guest Speakers: Hear from industry leaders and professionals in the cybersecurity field.
- Competitions: Compete in regional and national cybersecurity competitions.
